BHUBANESWAR – KONARK – PURI

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, pick up & transfer to Puri. En route visit the sightseeing places like: 64 Yogini Temple at Heerapur, Dhauli (Peace Pagoda), Pipili (Applique Work village), Konark Sun Temple (one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda), Chandrabhaga Beach. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. After get freshen up visit to Golden beach & Shopping at beach market. Overnights stay at Puri hotel.

Dhauli: It is a hill with vast open space adjoining it, and has major Edicts of Ashoka engraved on a mass of rock, by the side of the road leading to the summit of the hill. On the top of the hill, a dazzling white peace pagoda has been built by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha in the 1970s.

Konark Sun Temple: The magnificent Sun temple at Konark is the culmination of Odisha temple architecture & one of the most stunning monuments of religious architecture in the world. The entire temple was designed in the shape of a colossal chariot with seven horses and twenty four wheels, carrying the sun god, surya across the heavens.

Early Morning visit to World famous Lord Jagannath temple (Non Hindus are not allowed). Have your breakfast at hotel & drive towards Satpada at Chilika Lake. Do boat cruising inside the lake to view Sea Mouth & Irrawaddy Dolphins. En route you will visit to Alarnath Temple. Back to Puri and overnight stay.

Lord Jagannath Temple: The temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu, and part of the Char Dham. The temple is sacred to the Vaishnava traditions and saint Ramananda who was closely associated with the temple. It is also of particular significance to the followers of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism whose founder, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, was attracted to the deity, Jagannath, and lived in Puri for many years. Even though most Hindu deities that are worshiped are made out of stone or metal, here the image of Jagannath is wooden.

Satpada: Satapada means group of seven villages. It is home to the Irrawaddy dolphin & also for Sea Mouth Island where Chilika Lake meets the Bay of Bengal. The famous Chilika dolphins can be seen in their natural best here.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel. Then visit the local temples of Puri like: Loknath Temple, Sonar Gourang Temple, Gundicha Temple. Then drive back to Bhubaneswar en route visiting Raghurajpur painting village, Sakhigopal Shrikrishna Temple. Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar by afternoon check in to the hotel. Freshen up & visit for sightseeing of Zoo: Nandankanan zoological park (closed on Monday). Back to hotel for overnight stay.

Nandankanan Zoo: Established in 1979, offering its inhabitants a true feel of their natural habitats, Gharials (crocodile) and White Tiger Nandankanan also runs a lion and a white tiger Safari.

Today you will visit to temples & Caves: Temple like: Lingaraj temple (Non Hindus are not allowed but one can view it from outside), Mukteswar Temple, Rajarani Temple (Based on the sculptural architectural style, the temple is dated to the mid-11th century), Parsurameswar Temple. Caves like: Khandagiri & Udaygiri Jain caves. Evening shopping at Ekamra Hata (the craft market). Back to hotel for overnight stay at Bhubaneswar Hotel.

Lingaraj temple: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is adorned with beautiful sculptures, which have been carved on the spire. It is approximately 54.8 metres high and enshrines a huge statue of Lord Shiva, made up of granite. The idol is 8 feet in diameter and is placed on a platform that is about 8 inches above ground. The deity is bathed everyday with water, milk and bhang (marijuana).

Parsurameswar Temple: The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and is one of the oldest existing temples in the state. It is believed to have been built around 650 CE in Nagara style and has all the main features of the pre-10th century Orissan-style temples.

Khandagiri & Udaygiri Jain caves: Both the caves are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance. These are oldest rock cut caves; the caves are reminiscent of influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Odisha.
