Today you will visit to temples & Caves: Temple like: Lingaraj temple (Non Hindus are not allowed but one can view it from outside), Mukteswar Temple, Rajarani Temple (Based on the sculptural architectural style, the temple is dated to the mid-11th century), Parsurameswar Temple. Caves like: Khandagiri & Udaygiri Jain caves. Evening shopping at Ekamra Hata (the craft market). Back to hotel for overnight stay at Bhubaneswar Hotel.
Lingaraj temple: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is adorned with beautiful sculptures, which have been carved on the spire. It is approximately 54.8 metres high and enshrines a huge statue of Lord Shiva, made up of granite. The idol is 8 feet in diameter and is placed on a platform that is about 8 inches above ground. The deity is bathed everyday with water, milk and bhang (marijuana).
Parsurameswar Temple: The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and is one of the oldest existing temples in the state. It is believed to have been built around 650 CE in Nagara style and has all the main features of the pre-10th century Orissan-style temples.
Khandagiri & Udaygiri Jain caves: Both the caves are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance. These are oldest rock cut caves; the caves are reminiscent of influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Odisha.
